Question 1

Is it legal for me, as an owner, to check my prospective tenant?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as you have the data subject’s authorization to process their personal data, in line with Law 1581 of 2012. Checks are run on public sources with that authorization.

Question 2

Why pay for this if there are free background-check sites?

Accepted Answer

Because TradentIA consolidates validation across multiple public sources and restricted lists into a single auditable report, in minutes, without you having to check each one.

Question 3

Can I check companies or foreign nationals?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can check individuals, companies (NIT) and foreigners using a foreign ID or passport.

Question 4

Does the report tell me whether I should rent to the person?

Accepted Answer

No. The report presents findings and an attention level with a neutral label, with no traffic light or approve/reject verdict. The decision is always yours.

Question 5

Can I check only the tenant, or also a co-signer?

Accepted Answer

You can check both. Each check covers one person; if you need several, the packs of 3 and 10 checks are cheaper.

Question 6

What happens if the report finds something?

Accepted Answer

The report details each finding with its source and query date. We recommend verifying it and, if needed, seeking legal advice before deciding.

Question 7

Does TradentIA replace the lawyer or the risk analyst?

Accepted Answer

No. TradentIA strengthens and speeds up professional judgment. It automates the first layer —reading the CTL, validating owners against public sources and restricted lists, consolidating findings— so legal, credit and compliance teams can focus on interpretation and decision-making.

Question 8

Does TradentIA check restricted and binding lists?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It checks national and international restricted lists (AML/CFT) and open public sources. The specific scope is documented in each report.

Question 9

Can I use TradentIA to evaluate someone other than a tenant, such as a buyer or a business partner?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can check any counterparty in the transaction: owner, buyer, seller, supplier, partner or client.

Question 10

What kind of background information can I check with TradentIA?

Accepted Answer

Politically exposed persons (PEP), public information and adverse news, historical owners and liens, and official Colombian sources.

Question 11

Can I buy checks according to my needs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer volume-based plans with an accumulable analysis balance. Request a demo to define the plan that best fits your operation.
